HealRWorld/International Council of Small Business Launch Partnership to Advance Global Sustainable Business & UN Sustainable Development Goals
Washington, DC-- The strategic global partnership formed by HealRWorld LLC and the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) will be introduced to ICSB’s global membership at its 62nd Annual World Conference starting June 28 in Buenos Aires, Argentina (www.icsb2017.org). Both parties have signed an agreement to cooperate on sustainability data innovation with an emphasis on Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs), which comprise over 90% of the world’s businesses and are critical to developing nation economies. The teams will launch this initiative aimed at developing sustainability profiles of participating countries globally based on the footprint of their respective sustainable businesses, creating country-level sustainability rankings and annual reports, and offering a method and source for data collection to governments to ICSB’s membership comprising over 80 countries worldwide.
At the 2017 Annual World Conference, ICSB will celebrate the inaugural launch of the United Nations (UN) Name Day dedicated to MSMEs. ICSB, with the support of the Permanent Mission of Argentina to the United Nations, authored the name day resolution that was negotiated by all UN member states.
HealRWorld will additionally support the ICSB’s activities associated with the launch of the UN Name Day which will take place at United Nations HQ on May 11 in advance of the ICSB 2017 World Conference and be kicked-off by the new UN Secretary General, António Guterres. The ceremony will include a MSMEs Knowledge Summit where founding members and supporters will focus on the important role that entrepreneurs and MSMEs play as catalysts, innovators and supporters in the ecosystem to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. HealRWorld will announce key deliverables in support of this initiative. More information on this event and activities will be made available on the ICSB website (www.icsb.org) shortly.
